Giles Schools to Host Open Houses

Giles County schools are preparing for the 2019-20 academic year by inviting students and parents to join them in several open house events that are designed to allow those who attend to meet the students' teachers, tour the schools and learn the expectations for the year.

Bridgeforth Middle School will hold its open house Thursday, Aug. 1, at 5 p.m. for all students. The open house will kick off in the gymnasium with a Dress Code Fashion Show. Models will showcase the do's and don'ts of the dress code. 

Elkton Elementary School invites all students to participate in an open house Tuesday, July 30, at 6 p.m.

Minor Hill School will host an open house Tuesday, July 30, at 5 p.m. in the gymnasium where attendees can find out what's new, meet with faculty and staff and get a head start on paperwork and forms. 

Pulaski Elementary School's open house will be held Monday, July 29. Students entering the second grade will convene at 5 p.m. First graders can head over at 5:30 p.m. Students in pre-K or kindergarten can participate at 6 p.m. Attendees should go to the old gym, with an entrance on Cedar Lane. Parents and students are invited to meet with teachers and tour the school. PTO will be available in the gym for anyone wanting information on parent involvement. The Kona Ice Truck will be set up with tasty treats available for purchase.

Southside Elementary School will hold its open house Tuesday, July 30. Like PES, Southside will divide its time among the grade levels. Third graders will meet at the school at 5 p.m. Fourth graders will assemble at 6 p.m., and fifth graders will have their turn at 7 p.m. 

Richland Elementary invites students and parents to visit the school Thursday, Aug. 1, from 6-7:30 p.m.

Richland School will welcome students and parents Tuesday, Aug. 6. Parents and students will have the opportunity to tour the school and meet with teachers from 5-6 p.m. Principal Micah Landers and Assistant Principal Scott Blair will be available to answer any questions during a meeting for parents and students in the auditorium from 6-6:30 p.m. 

Giles County High has not scheduled a date for an open house at this time.
